How do I get help registering for Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, and CALI?
Answer
Westlaw, Lexis and Bloomberg Law – Students typically have access to Westlaw, Lexis and Bloomberg Law accounts year-round, including over the summer. Check the Library Blog for updates on summer access. If you have questions about accessing your Westlaw, Lexis and Bloomberg Law accounts, please email libref@law.umaryland.edu.
If you do not already have an account with Bloomberg Law, please contact libref@law.umaryland.edu to register and receive an active registration code. Please note that upper-class students can receive an active registration code from your Advanced Legal Research (ALR) instructor. Alternatively, students can visit www.bloomberglaw.com/activate and enter your name, phone number, law school email address (it is critical that you use your “umaryland.edu” address), school, and current role. After registering, please look for an email containing your account information.
Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) - CALI provides hundreds of interactive tutorials on the law, as well as legal practice, writing, and research, and has a growing collection of free e-casebooks. It’s a great place to start if you are given a project in an unfamiliar area of law, or to help prepare for final exams. First-time users must register and create a password using Maryland Carey Law's student authorization code.
