What materials can I borrow from the Thurgood Marshall Law Library?

Answer

Law Library materials that may be borrowed from the collection include treatises, monographs, and video and sound recordings. The Law Library also maintains a course reading collection with copies of all required textbooks and most optional books that students can borrow at the User Services Desk.

Materials that generally may not be borrowed and must be used in the library includes: court reports, statutes, codes and regulations, digests, indexes, encyclopedias, directories, periodical volumes, parts of multi-volume treatises, looseleaf services, microforms, materials labeled "non-circulating," selected reference materials, and materials in the Reading Room.

Eligible borrowers include current students, faculty, and staff, of University of Maryland, Baltimore, and other University of Maryland System and Affiliated Institutions

Maryland Carey Law alumni are also eligible to borrow materials from the Law Library. If you are a Maryland Carey Law alumni, please refer to our alumni borrowing page for more information.
